A Nation of Heroes.

We are DAKILA: a group of artists, educators, and individuals working together to creatively spark social consciousness formation toward social change.

Who We Are

Founded in 2005 by a group of artists and activists, DAKILA was born out of a desire to cultivate modern heroism in a world that urgently needs champions for human rights, democracy, and social justice.  Since then, DAKILA has grown into a large organization with members present all over the Philippines.

What We Do

At DAKILA, we use the power of art, culture, and community to build a movement of heroism toward social transformation rooted in human rights and democracy.

From defending press freedom and labor rights to championing climate justice, we tackle the most pressing issues of our time.

Directly fuel our mission to build a nation of heroes.

In 2016, we established a learning institution to support our mission of empowering citizens to become agents of social change.
Every year, we organize the ACTIVE VISTA HUMAN RIGHTS FESTIVAL to celebrate our rights through thought-provoking films and engaging events.
